JALALABAD (SW): 5 civilians have died in a military operation on Sunday evening in Ghani Khel district of Nangarhar province.<\/p>\n

A security source on conditions of anonymity told Salam Watandar that security forces have killed 5 civilians and taken 5 more for interrogation in Ghani Khel district of the province. The sourced added that all the civilians who were killed were working in a poultry farm in Torlaki area.<\/p>\n

Local residents have corroborated the incident. Asif Shinwari, the spokesman for the provincial education directorate, said 2 students are among the civilian deaths.<\/p>\n

But, Attaullah Khogyani, provincial governor’s spokesman, told Salam Watandar that Afghanistan National Security Directorate’s unit was conducting operation against Taliban insurgents which resulted in 5 deaths and 5 more were taken for interrogation. “The identity of those who are killed and taken for interrogation is not known yet”, informed Khogyani.<\/p>\n
