{"id":84986,"date":"2017-06-10T05:35:41","date_gmt":"2017-06-10T05:35:41","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/swn.af\/lib\/drive-against-illegal-possession-of-firearms\/"},"modified":"2017-06-10T05:35:41","modified_gmt":"2017-06-10T05:35:41","slug":"drive-against-illegal-possession-of-firearms","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/swn.af\/archive\/drive-against-illegal-possession-of-firearms\/","title":{"rendered":"Drive against illegal possession of firearms"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><img fetchpriority=\"high\" decoding=\"async\" alt=\"\" height=\"327\" src=\"\/2017_Uploads\/2017\/june\/10\/Jalalabad Police Checkpoint.jpg\" width=\"500\" \/><\/p>\n<p>JALALABAD (SW): The provincial government in Nangarhar has initiated a drive against illegal possession of firearms in a bid to curb the surging rate of crimes and violence.<\/p>\n<p>Gulab Mangal, provincial governor, told journalists on Saturday a number of armed individuals and groups are using firearms and identity cards belonging to the government officials resulting unrest in districts as well as the provincial capital Jalalabad city. &ldquo;Unfortunately, people close to the government officials are misusing the weapons and firearms&rsquo; licenses which is an illegal act&rdquo;, he said.<\/p>\n<p>Nangarhar residents have been irked by an evident surge in cases of kidnaping, armed robberies and target-killings.
