BAMYAN CITY (SW): The 5th<\/sup> round of 200 meter women’s ski competition concluded in Bamyan province on Thursday.<\/p>\n

This winter ski festival had some 13 women competing, which was won by Masooma Hassani, from Bamyan. Hassani said after winning the competition that she has been skiing since past 5 years. “For this year’s completion, I trained in Pakistan”, she said.<\/p>\n

Fariba and Fatima secured second and third positions respectively.<\/p>\n

Ali Shah Farhang, member of the Bamyan Ski Club, was one of the organizers of this year’s competitions. He said promoting skiing in the country was the main objective of the competition.<\/p>\n

Some of the avid skiers see lack of facilities for the sport as a major hurdle in the promotion of the sport in the country.<\/p>\n
