{"id":84092,"date":"2017-02-20T05:39:31","date_gmt":"2017-02-20T05:39:31","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/swn.af\/lib\/policemen-arrested-for-selling-arms-to-the-taliban\/"},"modified":"2017-02-20T05:39:31","modified_gmt":"2017-02-20T05:39:31","slug":"policemen-arrested-for-selling-arms-to-the-taliban","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/swn.af\/archive\/policemen-arrested-for-selling-arms-to-the-taliban\/","title":{"rendered":"Policemen arrested for selling arms to the Taliban"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><img fetchpriority=\"high\" decoding=\"async\" alt=\"\" height=\"327\" src=\"\/Uploads\/2017\/feb\/20\/badghis.jpg\" width=\"500\" \/><\/p>\n<p>QAL-I-NAW (SW): Seven policemen in Badghis province have been arrested on charges of selling arms to the Taliban insurgents.<\/p>\n<p>Provincial authorities have said the technical officer, head of ammunition department and five other members of the police have been arrested for selling rounds of AK47 to the Taliban insurgents.<\/p>\n<p>Zahir Bahand, provincial governor&rsquo;s spokesman, told Salam Watandar, the men were caught red-handed this morning. &ldquo;The sold rounds are being used by the insurgents in attacks on the security forces&rdquo;, added Bahand.<\/p>\n<p>According to the spokesman, the culprits have sold at least 75 thousand different rounds of ammunition to the rebels in the past six months by forging documents.<\/p>\n<p>Abdul Rauf Taj, the provincial police chief, confirming the arrests, said the 7 policemen and one civilian have been arrested who have been selling ammunition to the militants since 5 years. &ldquo;The civilian is a Kabul-resident who was facilitating the deals with the Taliban.
