{"id":84022,"date":"2017-02-11T09:49:59","date_gmt":"2017-02-11T09:49:59","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/swn.af\/lib\/suicide-attack-claims-8-lives-in-helmand\/"},"modified":"2017-02-11T09:49:59","modified_gmt":"2017-02-11T09:49:59","slug":"suicide-attack-claims-8-lives-in-helmand","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/swn.af\/archive\/suicide-attack-claims-8-lives-in-helmand\/","title":{"rendered":"Suicide attack claims 8 lives in Helmand"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><img decoding=\"async\" alt=\"\" src=\"\/Uploads\/2017\/feb\/11\/helmand.jpg\" \/><\/p>\n<p><strong>LASHKARGAH (SW): At least eight people were killed on Saturday when an explosives-laden car rammed into security personnel who had queued outside the New Kabul Bank in Helmand province to collect their salaries.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Nearly two dozen others were wounded in the explosion in the capital Lashkar Gah, many of them critically.<\/p>\n<p>Abdul Qayoom, a police officer, told Salam Watandar majority of the victims are Afghan National Army (ANA) men, but civilians have also sustained casualties.&quot;A suicide car bomber killed six people, including five soldiers, and 21 others were wounded,&quot; Helmand police chief Agha Noor Kentoz told AFP.<\/p>\n<p>Omar Zhwak, the provincial governor&acute;s spokesman confirmed the casualties, saying the wounded had been rushed to hospitals in the city.
