MAZAR-E-SHARIF (SW):  A man cut off his wife’s ears in Katta Gardan district of Balkh province in an episode of domestic violence.<\/p>\n

Zarina, the 23-year-old victim, is now under treatment at the emergency ward of Ibn-e-Sina hospital in Mazar-e-Sharif. “My husband is a drug addict, and I have been suffering for 3 years now”, said Zarina.<\/p>\n

The young bride has urged the government to get her divorce from her addicted husband.<\/p>\n

Sher Jan Durrani, provincial police chief’s spokesman, called the incident as a case of domestic violence. He promissed justice would be done in this regard. Doctor Shafiq, chief of medicine at Ibn-e-Sina hospital, has said the victim is in shock. “Zarina’s psychological condition is critical”, added Shafiq.<\/p>\n
