PUL-I-KHUMRI (SW): A married woman in Baghlan province has reportedly been killed by her husband for gifting AFN 500 to her sister.<\/p>\n

The incident took place in the cement blocks area of the provincial capital Pul-i-Khmri. The victim has been identified as Marya wife of Bashir. A resident of the area named Mansour told Salam Watandar the incident took place last night when Marya’s sister was guest at her place for dinner. He said Marya gifted AFN 500 to her sister which angered Bashir.<\/p>\n

Marya’s brother said that his sister was subject to constant torture at her in-laws. He said Marya’s family members were aware, but refrained from intervening in the husband and wife’s old dispute because they did not wanted to defame the couple in the society. The two families are close to each other.<\/p>\n

The victim’s family has called for justice to be served. Meanwhile, Zabehullah Shujah, spokesman for the provincial police headquarters, told Salam Watandar the suspect Bashir has been arrested.<\/p>\n
