He has been credited with immense contribution in writing and teaching for his country. The veteran historian has to his credit&nbsp;a number of publications on the modern history of Afghanistan and other socio-political affairs.<\/p>\n<p>Born in Laghman province, Dr. Kakar completed his high school studies at the Ahmad Shah Baba Lyc&eacute;e in Kandahar province. He then joined the faculty of literature at the Kabul University, and went on to the UK on a scholarship. The renowned Afghan professor obtained his Masters in modern European history and Islamic era in the Middle East.
