PUL-I-KHUMRI (SW): Noor Jamal, a 17-year-old young woman who gave birth to a baby girl has allegedly been beaten to death by her in-laws in the northern Baghlan province.<\/p>\n
The incident took place in the province’s Guzargah-e-Noor district.<\/p>\n
Khadija Yaqin, Head of Women’s Affairs in the province, said that Noor Jamal gave birth to a baby girl nearly 20 days ago, and she was killed by her in-laws just because she gave birth to a girl.<\/p>\n
She said that the victim’s father shared the issue with the officials in the district, and the officials referred the case to tribal elders for resolution but they handed over the victim to her in-laws who beat her to death.<\/p>\n
She added that scars and burn marks have been spotted on the victim’s dead body.<\/p>\n
Officials in the district said that the father-in-law of the dead woman has been arrested, and further investigation is underway.<\/p>\n
