KABUL (SW): A number of civil society activists set-up ‘justice for Afghanistan’s martyred’ camp in the capital’s Shahr-e-Naw park on Tuesday aimed at attracting the government’s attention towards the state of victim’s families.<\/p>\n
According to the Constitution, the government is duty-bound to assure security of its citizens and thus it should provide a peaceful environment for people, the activists stated at the launch of the camp.<\/p>\n
Sami Daraee, a civil activist, who was present on the occasion, said that the government is responsible to meet the demands of the victims’ families in regard to their welfare.<\/p>\n
Zabihullah Shadan, another civil society activist, asked the government to immediately identify the negligent security officials behind deadly attack on convoy of young police cadets last week, and prosecute them regardless of their ranks.<\/p>\n
The activists demanded the government to help the family members of the victims as soon as possible.<\/p>\n
They said the government should provide jobs for the family members of the victims.<\/p>\n

A number of family members of the unfortunate victims were also present on the occasion. They blamed the government for not doing enough to ensure security. The civil society activists asked the government to set-up a commission to probe the state of security affairs in the country. The activists said that their enrollment in monitoring commissions would diminish the gaps that exist between people and government. <\/p>\n
