TALUQAN (SW): Quoting the spokesperson for the governor of northern Takhar province and the head of women affairs department, a number of media outlets have wrongly charged a woman for being raped by a man whom she claims to be her husband.<\/p>\n
Speaking to Salam Watandar, Sohaila said that she got terribly shocked while hearing the ‘fabricated story’ of her being raped in the media. Sohaila said that after the story broke, she and her husband Rahimullah left their home in the province’s Yang-e-Qala district, and arrived in the provincial capital Taluqan to seek justice. She added that instead of providing justice and security, the police arrested them.<\/p>\n
Sohaila stated that they have been in love with each other and are married. The woman complained that the officials have fabricated the story to trap her and her husband.<\/p>\n
Abdul Baqi, head to the primary court in the district has said that both Sohaila and Rahimullah have married legally and no one has the right to imprison them.<\/p>\n

Meanwhile, Sohaila has charged the head of women affairs department for luring her to level ‘false allegations’ of rape.<\/p>\n
In the meantime, Razmara Hawash, the head to women affairs department has asserted that the ‘rape’ has been committed in the month of Ramadan.<\/p>\n
Having rejected this claim, Sohaila has insisted saying that she is in love with Rahimullah and her family has supported their marriage. She regretted that the media has stigmatized them.<\/p>\n
Meanwhile a policeman at the Takhar police headquarters, who wished not to be named in the report, has said that both Sohaila and Rahimullah are in police custody. <\/p>\n
