FARAH CITY (SW): A road accident in southern Farah province claimed 17 lives on Saturday.<\/p>\n
Local officials in Farah province said that a bus that was carrying passengers from Kabul to Herat faced the accident in Farah province that left 14 people dead and 23 more injured.<\/p>\n
Muhammad Nasir Mehri, the spokesperson for Farah Governor told Salam Watandar that the traffic accident occurred a day ago in Pul-e-Jinjalak area of the Balabolok district in Farah province. He added that those who were injured in the incident have been taken to the regional hospital in Herat, military hospital in Farah and the provincial hospital in Nimroz for treatment.<\/p>\n
The spokesperson for Farah Governor noted that all those who got injured in this traffic accident are in critical state. In the meantime, doctors at the regional hospital in Herat has said that a number of the injured passengers are hospitalized at the emergency ward.<\/p>\n
Local officials in Farah stated that the high speed and lack of attention on the part of the driver caused the accident. Some have blamed the faulty roads but a number of passengers who frequently travel on Kabul-Herat rout however, believed that most of the bus drivers who drive on Kabul-Heart highway also use hashish while driving.<\/p>\n
