KABUL (SW): As talks to allow Gulbudin Hekmatyar’s Hezb-i-Islami party to enter political arena enters final stage, some analysts raise questions about mechanism put in this for it.<\/p>\n
Some analysts however, are of the opinion that the previously proven mechanism shall be followed to allow the HI men join the ranks of the Afghan National Security Forces (ANSF).<\/p>\n
Speaking to Salam Watandar, Jawid Kohistani, a security affairs expert, said that Hezb-e-Islami should be compelled to give-up its ties with extremist groups. Kohistani stressed that the Hekmatyar led Hezb-e-Islami should be disarmed. He expressed that the government must be carefully recruit Hekmatyar’s fighters into the ANSF.<\/p>\n
Kabul Khan Tadbir, another security analyst, said that the HI’s arms and ammunition should be handed over to the government. He added that the process must be wisely conducted.<\/p>\n
On the other hand, Heshmatullah Arshad, the spokesperson for Hizb-e-Isalmi in northern Afghaistan told Salam Watandar that under the agreement all ammunition belonging to Hezb-e-Islami would be handed over to government. He added that the party’s men associated with the security would be incorporated into the ANSF.<\/p>\n
Meanwhile, Shahussain Murtazawi, the deputy Presidential spokesman, told Salam Watandar that the Hezb-e-Islami would be totally disarmed before allowed to enter the political arena. Murtazawi said that the government has preconditioned HI’s return with full and unconditional obedience to the Constitution. He added that Hizb-e-Islami has agreed respect all preconditions.<\/p>\n
