KABUL (SW): In a recent statement released by the Taliban, the armed rebels have said that they are considering to set up a commission within their structure to discuss with the government matters related to the exchange of war prisoners.<\/p>\n
The statement said that the commission is expected to prepare a statute based on which the exchange of prisoners would take place in different situations.<\/p>\n
Taliban claimed that the government has never done anything to release prisoners and is not considering any program for this purpose.<\/p>\n
Taliban by saying the above, referring to the 15 Afghan National Army (ANA) personnel who after their chopper came down in Faryaab province a few months back, were captured by the militants.<\/p>\n
Taliban asserted that they have time and again said that they are ready for the exchange but the government kept ignoring to do something about the captives.<\/p>\n
Taliban have denied that the 15 Afghan National Army personnel have been exchanged for Qari Salahuddin, former Taliban Governor in Faryaab and dubbed it as a rumor.<\/p>\n
Jawed Faisal, Deputy Spokesman for Chief Executive Officer, told Salam Watandar that the militants have never talked with the government about exchanging prisoners.<\/p>\n
He added that the government is willing to talk directly with the militants and reach a comprehensive agreement over exchanging the prisoners.<\/p>\n
He mentioned that they would use all they could to release the Afghan National Security Forces (ANSF) personnel from Taliban’s captivity.<\/p>\n
