So far, five days into the competitions, Afghanistan has won a total of 15&nbsp;medals. This include one gold, three silver and eleven bronze medals.&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>Among the participating eight countries, Afghanistan stands at the sixth slot, ahead of Bhutan and Maldives only. India is on the top with a total of 222 medals, followed by Sri Lanka, Pakistan, Bangladesh and Nepal.<\/p>\n<p>The 12th South Asian Games are taking place from 5 February to 16 February 2016 in Guwahati and Shillong, India. A total of 2,672 athletes are scheduled to compete in 228 events over 23 sports.
