He noted four major challenges faced by local radio stations that included financial constraints, security threats, lack of professional female staff and limited access to information.&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>It was highlighted that various armed gangs and pressure groups have forced a number of radio stations to adopt a policy of self-censor and often in favor of these groups. &ldquo;These stations have received direct threats&rdquo;, he said.<\/p>\n<p><\/p>\n<p>Among the 120 stations consulted, an overwhelming 90 said financial constraints is the biggest challenge they are faced with. It was followed by insecurity, lack of professional female staffers and finally limited access to information.<\/p>\n<p>It is vital to note that some 175 radio stations are operating across the country.
