KABUL (SW): Abdullah Abdullah, the Chief Executive Officer has confirmed President Mohammad Ashraf Ghani would attend the forthcoming Heart of Asia-Istanbul Conference in Islamabad later this week.<\/p>\n
Dubbing the HAIP Conference vital for peace, stability and economic growth, Abdullah said this would also help ease ties with Pakistan.<\/p>\n
There were rumors that Ghani might not attend this conference in Pakistan over Islamabad’s alleged support for terrorism in Afghanistan.<\/p>\n
According to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs (MoFA), in this 5th<\/sup> HAIP Conference, matters related to security, anti-terrorism and economic growth would be discussed.<\/p>\n <\/p>\n Shakib Mustaghni, MoFA spokesman said in this regard though the conference would not discuss the peace talks but regional measures to curb terrorism would be pondered over.<\/p>\n Meanwhile, a number of Wolesi Jirga (lower house) members stressed that the President should vividly present the case of the country at the HAIP Conference.
