PUL-E-KHOMRI (SW): Taliban in northern Baghlan province have warned women that they would be punished if they would be seen in the market.<\/p>\n
Nooria Hamidi, one of human rights activists and a resident in Dand-e-Ghori district told SalamWatandar in an exclusive interview that Taliban have imposed rules on women’s commuting in bazaar calling it illegal and the cause of moral corruption in the society.<\/p>\n
According to Hamidi, based on the rules Taliban have imposed, women can not even go to school or education institutions.<\/p>\n
She said that Taliban even extort money from dowries, teachers’ salaries, and agriculture products.<\/p>\n
The activist who is also a member of civil society in Baghlan, said that Taliban have killed several members of her family.<\/p>\n
She criticized government’s performance and local officials for not taking any action against Taliban through clear-up operation in Baghlan.<\/p>\n

Abdul Rashid Bashir, Acting Police Chief in Baghlan however, said that security forces are prepared for conducting a comprehensive operation in the district soon.<\/p>\n
He said that Taliban in the areas under their control oppress the residents and force them to obey their rules.<\/p>\n
