KABUL(SW): A number of Afghan political experts believed that Pakistan through conducting rocket attacks in the border areas with Afghanistan is seeking to encroach part of the country.<\/p>\n
Afghanistan and Pakistan shares unspecific and long border called as “Durand Line”. The areas near this line between the two countries have witnessed insecurity in the recent years. Many terrorist groups have safe havens in these areas.<\/p>\n
Pakistan’s paramilitary border forces have continuously targeted Afghanistan’s border areas by rockets, which have caused a number of casualties. In a recent case, a few days ago as a result of Pakistan’s rocket and artillery attacks on an Afghan Border Police (ABP)’s checkpoints in Angor Dara area in Ashkin district, Paktika, an ABP man was killed and three more were injured.<\/p>\n
The most common reaction from the Afghanistan government has been to summon either Pakistan’s Ambassador or an envoy, which has never led to an effective result to prevent from such incidents.<\/p>\n

Kabul Khan Tadbir, a political expert, told Salam Watandar that lack of coordination between the civilian and military leadership in Afghanistan has been a challenge that has always benefited Pakistan.<\/p>\n
He said that Pakistan by carrying out such attacks compels Afghanistan to complain to the United Nations so that the case is put on the United Nations’ table so that Pakistan could insist in identifying its borders with Afghanistan.<\/p>\n
It is vital to note that Afghanistan does not recognize the Durand Line as international border since the line (drawn in the 19th<\/sup> century) takes away many parts of greater Afghanistan and has now been ruled by Pakistan.<\/p>\n <\/p>\n Latif Nazari, another political analyst, said that the government should review its policy towards Pakistan.
