MAIDAN CITY(SW):Local officials in Maidan Wardak province has said that the Taliban kidnapped seven passengers who were on their way at Kabul-Bamiyan highway in Jalriz district on Monday morning.<\/p>\n
Naqibullah Haidari, District Chief in Jalriz, told SalamWatandar that the Taliban have set up checkpoint in Ismayel Kheyl area in the district where they kidnapped the seven passengers.<\/p>\n
He said that four of the abductees were released in the afternoon following the mediation of the tribal elders.<\/p>\n
He added that the tribal elders would do their best to help release the rest three passengers soon.<\/p>\n
Taliban have abducted passengers at Kabul-Bamiyan highway in Jalriz time and again.<\/p>\n
The district witnessed a fierce and bloody fighting between the militants and local police at the beginning of the current year.<\/p>\n
Earlier, the militants also kidnapped a number of staff from Local Governance in Bamiyan at the very highway.
