MAIDAN SHAHAR(SW):Reports sugget that the Taliban have attacked security forces’ checkpoints at Kabul-Bamiyan highway and have closed the highway for the passengers.<\/p>\n
Attaullah Khogyani, Spokesman for Maidan Wardak’s governor, told SalamWatandar that hundreds Taliban fighters attacked the highway and searched the passengers<\/p>\n
Khogyani said that the Taliban were repelled by the security forces and that also inflicted heavy casualties upon the rebels. He further said that security forces have opened Kabul-Ghazni highway to people but Kabul-Bamiyan highway still remains closed.<\/p>\n
“Military operation against the Taliban is underway and Kabul-Bamiyan highway will soon reopen.” He said.<\/p>\n

A resident from Jalriz district, Maidan Wardak province, said the Taliban have closed Kabul-Bamiyan highway since morning and fighting still continues.<\/p>\n
Shariffullah, a member of parliament from Maidan Wardak however, said that the Taliban has created problems on the both sides of the highway.<\/p>\n
He asked the government to seriously ensure the security in the highways.<\/p>\n
Taliban have yet to comment about it.<\/p>\n
