KABUL(SW): The Ministry of Rural Rehabilitation and Development (MRRD) said on Tuesday that they have completed near ten thousand development projects worth $ 234 million this year so far.<\/p>\n
Nasir Ahmad Durani, minister for MRRD, said that they implemented some 9858 programs in the sectors of water supply, transportation, capacity building, energy, health and livelihood.<\/p>\n
He said that the MRRD have signed 3791 new projects worth $ 113 million in different sectors.<\/p>\n
He further said from the total budget of $ 389 million, the ministry has spent 60 percent worth $ 232 million so far.<\/p>\n
He believed that once these new projects are implemented, it would directly create jobs for the citizens.<\/p>\n

Out of all the development projects, which have been implemented and\/or completed in 34 provinces in the country, Nangarhar has completed 578 projects worth $ 17 million and Paktika has implemented 2 projects which are among the provinces with the most and the least development projects.<\/p>\n
Officials in MRRD said that they have merged six parallel departments to avoid duplications in the related departments.<\/p>\n
