The joint flag was later gifted to the Indian Consulate in Herat city.<\/p>\n<p>&ldquo;We greatly appreciate the generous assistance by the Indian government and Indian people&rdquo;, a slogan on the banners they carried said. &nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>Mohammad Asif Rahimi, Herat Governor, who accompanied the youths, said that the Afghan people would do their best to maintain good relation with India. &nbsp;He asked other countries in the region to follow and lay foundation for a more friendly and prosperous Asia.<\/p>\n<p>Amit Kumar Mishra, the Indian Counsel General termed Salma Dam as the hallmark of Indo-Afghan friendship. Kumar said that the dame would start producing electricity in mid-2016.
