KABUL (SW) – The Independent Election Commission has once again delayed the partial announcement of the initial Wolesi Jirga (lower house) election results.<\/p>\n

The IEC stated on Friday it has delayed the electoral results to ensure separation of rigged votes from the genuine ones in a number of provinces. Mirza Mohammad Haqparast, deputy spokesman for the IEC, said a day earlier the initial results of 10 provinces would be announced on Friday. He said this would be followed by gradual announcements for more provinces.<\/p>\n

The WJ polls were held last month across Afghanistan except the restive Ghazni province.<\/p>\n
