KABUL (SW): The ragging violence across the country has spread fears among citizens to the extent that people are increasingly becoming reluctant to help others under such circumstances.<\/p>\n
In conversation with Salam Watandar, a number of Kabul residents said this trend has further encouraged terrorists and criminals.<\/p>\n
Ahmad Reshad, one such citizen, said people are also skeptical in this regard because of the complex policing system. He charged that when the actual culprits and perpetrators of a crime flee the scene, the police has often taken innocent people who were helping the victims into custody.<\/p>\n
Another citizen Ahmad Farhad stated that this is the religious duty of every person in the country to extend helping hand to those in need. Some other residents lamented that people are shying away from their moral and social responsibilities when faced with such circumstances.<\/p>\n
Marwa, a girl living in the capital, blamed the ragging violence and insecurity for the growing trend of people becoming unhelpful to each other. She said even the police force sometimes decline to help.<\/p>\n
In the views of psychologist Shafiq Bahrozyan, Afghanistan is faced with the crisis of distrust, and people seem to be suspicious of each other. He said this can have social, political, family and economic reasons making people doubtful about each other.<\/p>\n
Meanwhile, the Ministry of Interior (MoI) has promised to hold extensive awareness programs aimed at improvement service delivery to the masses. Nusrat Rahimi, spokesman for the MoI, informed that the policemen found guilty in this regard would face legal action. He added the ongoing reforms drive at the MoI has yield positive results.<\/p>\n
