KABUL (SW): General Abdul Rashid Dostum, the first vice president in exile, said it is difficult to negotiate peace with Taliban without him. Peace in Afghanistan comes only when peace agreements achieved between leaders of the government first, he added.<\/p>\n

At a commemoration held for the 577th<\/sup> birthday celebration of Amir Shir Ali Nawayi, the famous Turk poet in Bagh Babur today (Thursday), on his telephone speech, General Dostum emphasized on his role on the peace and security of Afghanistan, and added that without his presence, nobody else, even the High Peace Council, could not negotiate with the Taliban.<\/p>\n

“Only I can bring the Taliban leaders on the negotiating table”, Gen. Dostum said. He added that he is even more involved with the politics of Afghanistan now from exile.<\/p>\n

The exiled vice president emphasized on his experience in such negotiation dialogues, adding that in order to achieve peace, first the leaders of the country should enter into a peace agreement between themselves and put aside their differences.  <\/span>As an example, he referred to the recent ongoing impasse between the Arg and the dismissed governor of Balkh, Atta Mohammad Noor.<\/p>\n

The exiled ‘first vice president’ praised the establishment of the ‘coalition to save Afghanistan’ and emphasized on his role in the upcoming elections.<\/p>\n
