GHOR (SW): A number of civil society activists and some members of the Ghor Provincial Council told Salam Watandar that the presence of a number of people under the banner of ‘people’s uprisings’ in this province has led the security forces to fail.<\/p>\n
According to them, these people spy for Taliban and transfer intelligence to the Taliban before military operations are launched.<\/p>\n
Nazar Mohammad Saqib, a civil society activist in Ghor told Salam Watandar, although these people receive equipment and a lot of money from the government, however, before launching the operation, they share all the information with the Taliban.<\/p>\n
Mohammad Nasir Khesrow, another civil society activist, said that the ‘people’s uprising forces’, except for pillaging, insecurity, and killing of innocent people in Ghor, have done nothing else. According to him, the presence of these forces has caused the Afghan National Army (ANA) to achieve nothing in their operations on Taliban.<\/p>\n
Abdul Hamid Natiqi, a member of the Ghor Provincial Council, said that we should not only blame the ‘people’s uprising forces’, since a number of people from within the system as well, due to ethnic differences provide intelligence to the Taliban.<\/p>\n

According to Mr. Natiqi, they have repeatedly discussed this issue with the central government; however, so far no action has been taken in this regard.<\/p>\n
We tried to have the view of Ghor police on this, but they refused to talk.<\/p>\n
However, Abdul Hai Khatibi, spokesperson for the Governor of Ghor said the existence of ‘people’s uprising forces’ in support of ANA and other security forces have been very crucial and the government has not received any report of their spying for the Taliban; however, on the opposite case, they will be treated in accordance with the law.<\/p>\n
Civil society activists and some members of the Ghor Provincial Council have been criticizing the presence of the ‘people’s uprising forces’, while Malawi Abdul Haq Haidari, a commander of these forces, with his men and the deputy head of the ‘Directorate of Haj and Religious Affairs’ have recently joined the Taliban forces.<\/p>\n
