{"id":77098,"date":"2018-01-17T07:09:06","date_gmt":"2018-01-17T07:09:06","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/swn.af\/lib\/21-increase-in-violence-against-women\/"},"modified":"2020-12-19T10:31:49","modified_gmt":"2020-12-19T10:31:49","slug":"21-increase-in-violence-against-women","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/swn.af\/archive\/21-increase-in-violence-against-women\/","title":{"rendered":"21% increase in violence against women"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><img fetchpriority=\"high\" decoding=\"async\" alt=\"\" height=\"387\" src=\"\/2017_Uploads\/2018\/1- jan\/17\/\u0632\u0646\u0627\u0646.jpg\" width=\"689\" \/><\/p>\n<p style=\"margin:0px 0px 13.33px; text-align:justify\">KABUL (SW): The Afghanistan Independent Human Rights Commission&rsquo;s regional office has noted that violence against women has increased by 21.8 percent in comparison to the previous year.<\/p>\n<p style=\"margin:0px 0px 13.33px; text-align:justify\">AIHRC&rsquo;s regional office in Kabul, which also covers Kapisa, Panjshir, Logar, Maidan Wardak, and Ghazni provinces, in its recent report on the violence against women has said that violence against women has increased in 2017 in comparison to 2016.<\/p>\n<p style=\"margin:0px 0px 13.33px; text-align:justify\">In this report, AIHRC has established that there have been 699 cases of violence against women in 2016 which has increased to 895 in 2017, and most of these acts of violence have been physical, verbal, psychological and economic.<\/p>\n<p style=\"margin:0px 0px 13.33px; text-align:justify\">Economic problems, drug addiction, poor security situation, outdated&nbsp;traditions, corruption, weak rule of law and lack of awareness are among the causes of violence identified by the AIHRC in its recent report.<\/p>\n<p style=\"margin:0px 0px 13.33px; text-align:justify\">In another part of this report, AIHRC mentioned&nbsp;that another matter of concern for the Human Rights Commission is the increase in the domestic violence.
