GARDEZ (SW): Unidentified armed men gunned down worshipers at a mosque killing 3 men and injuring 4 more in Paktia province late on Friday night.
Local authorities said that the incident took place in Zawi village of Gardez while the worshipers were praying evening prayers of the Ramadan month.
Abdullah Hasrat, provincial governor’s spokesman, told Salam Watandar that 3 civilians were killed and 4 others were injured in the shooting.
But, witnesses at the scene incident said 8 people died including a provincial prosecutor in the shooting.
The provincial police headquarters have confirmed the incident assuring that no one has been arrested in connection with mosque shooting, but an investigation has been launched into the matter.
