GHOR (SW): A number of women residents of Ghor on Monday launched campaign to encourage female participation in the forthcoming parliamentary and district council elections.
Participants of this campaign lamented that a number of women still do not have identity cards, and this issue needs to be resolved prior to the elections.
Kulsoom Rezai, member of the provincial council, said on the occasion the prime objective of this campaign is to spread awareness, particularly among women.
Fazlullah Jalali, provincial head for the Independent Election Commission (IEC), said in this regard the voter registration drive is in full swing, and so far up to 90,000 citizens have registered in the province.
