KABUL (SW) – Representatives of the Afghanistan Chamber of Commerce and Industries together with a number of women entrepreneurs have begun work on a proposal in regard to the peace process.

Khan Jan Alakozay, deputy head of the ACCI, told a moot in this connection on Tuesday that the concerns of the business community as well as proposals for job creation and growth of economy are the salient features of this proposed proposal that would be shared with the government.

He added the proposal would also be shared with the High Peace Council, the Taliban and the Loya Jirga (grand council) for peace soon.

Speaking on the occasion, Muneeza Wasiq, chairperson for the Women Chamber of Commerce and Industries, said fears exist about potential curbs on businesswomen after the arrival of Taliban and joining the government. She said women entrepreneurs have invested some $ 7 million in the country and run up to 11000 production units.

In the meantime, Mohammad Umer Daudzai, secretary for the HPC, said the private sector has legitimate right to express its views and share its proposals at the Loya Jirga and proposed peace talks with the Taliban.
