JALALABAD (SW): A woman has been shot dead by her brother-in-law in the Nangarhar province, an official said on Saturday.
According to the details, the incident took place in the Toto area of Sherzad district in the province. Attaullah Khogyani, spokesman for the provincial governor, said investigations into the case are underway. He added that the father-in-law of the victim has been taken into custody.
Reasons behind the murder are unknown, and the suspect is on the run.
Salam Watandar wished to have the views of the provincial directorate of women affairs on this matter, but to no avail. There has been a notable surge in such incidents of domestic violence in the province.
