KABUL (SW): The Wolesi Jirga on Monday warned the government not to delay introduction of new ministers or the three already named would not be given the vote of confidence.
Abdul Rauf Ibrahimi, speaker of the house, said the term of interim ministers has now crossed the legal limits, and their further stay would be a clear violation of the Constitution. He told the house that the members of administrative board of the house has time and again reminded President Mohammad Ashraf Ghani to end the rule of interim ministers, and the President has also promised measures in this regard.
Qayume Sajjadi, a member of the house, suggested if the government failed to nominate replacement for the all unseated ministers, the house should not entertain the only three nominated ministers for the vote of confidence. The speaker agreed with the suggestion.
This comes as a number of directorates and at least 12 ministries are being governed by interim heads.
