KABUL (SW) – The rampant use of posters and other electoral material on public and private properties in Kabul has irked resident of the capital city.
In conversation with Salam Watandar, a number of residents said the glue used to past the material on walls can cause respiratory and skin issues. They stressed the candidates must keep the health of the citizens and environment in consideration.
Nawroz and Abdul Hameed, two such residents of the city, said literally no candidate seems to be considering the rights of the citizens while striving to attract voters in their campaigns.
Rashid Ramiz, a dermatologist, said in this regard the concerns of the residents are not out of proportion. He said the chemicals used to past the campaign materials on walls can also cause skin and eye complications. The urban landscape has changed in many cities across Afghanistan with intense electoral campaigns using posters, hoardings and banners.
