
KABUL (SW): Before rising for winter break, the Wolesi Jirga (lower house) has approved 3 drafts into laws, approved 4 presidential decrees and introduced 3 bills.
Abdul Rauf Inami, deputy speaker of the house, announced these achievements during the final session before the winter break on Wednesday. He said the house held 54 sessions in this period. He added different topics were discussed on the house floor, and the 18 parliamentary committees have also conducted 427 sessions separately.
According to the deputy speaker of the lower house, the WJ responded to 1497 complaints of the citizens, 7 ministers were unseated for not properly spending their budgets, and 28 high-profile executive officials including ministers were called to respond to the queries of the parliamentarians.
According to the Afghan Constitution (AC 2004), the WJ members’ are bound to serve their voters even during their holidays.
