12/06/2017

KABUL (SW): The Wolesi Jirga (lower house) has approved an 11-article-proposal titled "national consolidation of unity and political consensus" to end the differences between the protesters and the Arg (Presidential Palace).

The proposal strongly urges the government to properly investigate the recent events which took place in Kabul, and do justice. Article 2 of the proposal notes that the victims and survivors of recent deadly attacks in Kabul should be supported financially and morally while the protesters’ legal demands should be met.

Article 3 of the proposal demands the government to share the National Security Strategy with the House. The proposal urges the government to refrain from politicizing security entities.

The proposal also requests the government to honor the National Unity Government agreement. It has also suggested that the government should report Pakistan as a terrorist supporting state to the United Nations’ Security Council, and declare those Taliban who are not willing to join peace process as state enemies.
