
KABUL (SW): Rumors has it Gulbuddin Hekmatyar, head of the Hezb-e-Islami party, and Minister Faizullah Zaki, leader of the Junbish-e-Islami party, have left for Turkey to meet the vice president Abdul Rasheed Dostum.
There are unconfirmed reports this visit is based on the directive of the president Mohammad Ashraf Ghani. However, Abdul Fateh Ahmadzai, spokesman for the Minister of Labor, Social Affairs, Martyrs and Disabled, told Salam Watandar Faizullah Zaki has left for Turkey on a ‘personal’ visit.
We wished to have the views of the Junbish-e-Islami party as well, but to no avail.
A leader of the Hezb-e-Islami party who wished not to be named in the report informed Gulbuddin Hekmatyar is visiting Turkey to deliberate on ‘major national’ issues. The source informed matters related to this trip would be shared with the press after the return of Hekmatyar.
