KABUL (SW): Members of Sadat Peace Council here on Thursday said that they are fed-up with the ongoing bloodshed and can no longer endure the devastating war.
They asked all the warring sides to put end to the ongoing conflict. Sayed Padshah Hussaini, the head for Sadat Peace Council, noted that there are 3 million Sadats in Afghanistan. He warned both the government and armed opposition to stop fighting within 3 months. Hussaini added that they would take action themselves if both the government and insurgents do not act upon their ultimatum.
In the meantime, Mulawi Abdul Salam Zaef, Taliban’s era ambassador to Pakistan, stated that “all people should stand-up like the Sadat community and say “no” to war”. Zaef noted that extreme poverty is the fundamental cause behind the ongoing war and unity is essential for overcoming it.
He added that peace is the only way that leads to survival of the country, and therefore Afghans have to raise their voices for peace and unity. Zaef went on and said that the vulnerabilities that have caused war should be studied smartly.
Sadat Council of Afghanistan was established in the year 2012. It has established offices in most provinces of the country.
