TALUQAN (SW): Armed clashes between the supporters of two warlords in Takhar province on Wednesday killed two people and injured many others.
Locals told Salam Watandar that the supporters of Bashir Qanet, Hezb-e-Islami commander, and Imaduddin, another local commander, have used heavy and automatic rifles in clashes in the Chah Aab district. According to the locals, armed men supporters of Qanet fired rockets at the local market burning down a part of it.
According to eye-witness, two children got killed and four others got wounded due to firing by Qanet’s men.
Khalil Aseer, spokesman for the police, said in this regard that the district police chief and his guards also got wounded in these clashes. Local officials have called for additional security forces to bring the situation under control.
