He added that the district police chief Hashim Bator got wounded in this clash on Saturday. He added that the Afghan Nation Security Forces (ANSF) have killed four Taliban militants, including the brother of Rahim Dad.

Along with his fighters, Rahim Dad had surrendered when the Vice President Gen. Abdul Rasheed Dostum led a military operation in the province a while ago.

In the recent clashes, the Taliban militants have reportedly killed a local pro-government militia leader Nazar Meda. There are reports that at least five civilians have got wounded in the shelling by the ANSF.

The government forces are busy in the “Khanjar-15” clean-up operation against the rebels in the province, and claim to have killed a number of rebels. Officials acknowledge that Khwaja Qashri and Shorqul Abe areas in the province are under the control of the Taliban.
