KABUL (SW): President Mohammad Ashraf Ghani said on Saturday the recruitment process had for long served as an impediment in the way of progress for the youth.
Ghani said this while inaugurating the new compound of the Independent Administrative Reform and Civil Service Commission (IARCSC) and introducing new trade commissioners. He said complex bureaucratic process and vague vision had been hindering practical progress.
“Our youth is skeptic because they had skills, but the recruitment process was hindering the path of utilization of their skills. Every organization where the recruitment process is complex and based on ties, it does not reform in years”, he noted.
Ghani said the trade commissioners need to prioritize balancing the country’s trade deficit. He said the newly appointed commissioners should strive to improve exports and attract investment. The president stressed there is a dire need to present opportunities in a transparent manner.
Nadir Nadiri, head of the IARCSC, said on the occasion the new commissioners have been appointed transparently. He said this landmark process has helped appoint a number of female trade commissioners for the first time.
On his term, Humayon Humayon, minister for trade and industries, said out of 900 candidates only 124 highly-qualified, competent and experienced candidates have been appointed.
