KABUL (SW): President Mohammad Ashraf Ghani on Saturday oversaw formation of a new unified command of the Special Forces of the National Directorate of Security (NDS) in the capital Kabul.
Speaking on the occasion, President Ghani hailed the National Directorate of Security (NDS) forces for their capabilities and determination. He said the Special Forces of the NDS would no longer be stationed on check posts.
He added there is a consensus among the security forces towards avoiding civilian casualties in clashes. The President said the imposed war in Afghanistan has evolved into a harsh conflict.
Ghani also bestowed medals of excellence upon six personnel of the NDS on this occasion.
