MAIDAN CITY(SW): Attaullah Khogyani, Spokesman for the Provincial Governor has confirmed the news. He told SalamWatandar that it was not clear who has been behind this incident. Khogyani assured that the investigation into the case was underway and soon the culprits would be brought to the justice.
Mohammad Sharif Hotak, a member of Maidan Wardak Provincial Council, told SalamWatandar that the shrine was some 90 years old and people from different parts of the country frequented it. According to him, those who placed explosives in the shrine intended to stir sectarian differences.
Two months ago, the militants also set ablaze a shrine known as Sobian in Tangi area of the same province. Similar incident took place in eastern Logar a while ago when unidentified armed men blew-up Shah Khalwati shirne, which was some 500 years told.
