TAKHAR (SW): Hazrat Gul Farkhari, Traffic Police Chief of Takhar Province, has told Salam Watandar more than 40,000 undocumented vehicles are plying the streets in the province.
According to Mr. Farkhari, all drivers of these vehicles do not have driving licenses, which is also causing difficulty in controlling crimes. He added that due to the rising number of vehicles in this province, there are no accurate statistics available on these vehicles. He acknowledged insecurity has been increasing in this province.
Police sources confirmed that most of these undocumented cars have been used for criminal offenses, human trafficking, and smuggling of narcotics.
Khalil Asir, spokesperson for Takhar Police, said that crime rates have been increasing in Takhar, and most offenders have escaped using undocumented vehicles.
The Directorate of traffic in Takhar has vowed to streamline and document all right-hand drive vehicles in the province.
