KABUL (SW) – The national Under 16 football team on Tuesday left for Qatar to prepare for the forthcoming Asia Cup.
According to the Afghanistan Football Federation, the Afghan side would prepare for the mega event hosted by Malaysia in this one-week training camp in Doha, Qatar. The U-16 Asia Cup would commence on September 20, and Afghanistan would face Iraq in its maiden match.
In its second match, Afghanistan would play against South Korea on September 25 and would take on Australia on September 28 for the third and final group match.
A total of 18 teams are going to feature in this 18th Under-16 Asia Cup. Iraq is the defending champion.
