Two suspects arrested over the murder of Nakamura

JALALABAD (SW) – Authorities in Nangarhar province claimed to have arrested two suspects in connection with the killing of the legendary Japanese aid worker, Testu Nakamura in Jalalabad earlier this week.

The governor’s spokesman, Attaullah Khogyani, said arms and ammunitions have been confiscated from these two suspects. He added the case is seriously pursued by the authorities and emerging details would soon be shared with the public.

Prior to this, provincial governor, Shah Mehmood Miakhail, claimed the plan to kill Nakamura was orchestrated outside the country.  

The slain Japanese aid worker was widely respected for his work in promoting irrigation and agriculture in this part of the country. He took charge of Japanese charity, Peace Medical Service, in 2008 after the abduction and subsequent killing of his countrymen, Kazuya Ito
