JALALABAD (SW): An Afghan Local Police (ALP) man has shot his two colleagues dead before joining the ranks of the Taliban in Nangarhar province.
Ajmal Umer, member of the provincial council, told Salam Watandar the incident occurred in the Waziro area of the Khogyano district. He added the attacker was an infiltrator, and moments after the incident the Taliban militants came for his rescue, and took him away injured.
The attacker has also taken away an automatic rifle with him.
Meanwhile, the provincial government has said two ALP men died in a Taliban attack on their outpost close to a high-school in the Waziro area of the district. Attaullah Khogyani, spokesman for the governor, told Salam Watandar that the Taliban wished to overrun this outpost, but failed.
