KABUL (SW): At least 25 people, including journalists were killed and 45 others injured in two suspected suicide blasts in capital Kabul during the morning rush hour Monday.
As per reports, local Azadi Radio said one of its reporters — Abdullah Hananzay — was killed in the attack. The French wire-service AFP also confirmed the killing of its chief cameraman, Shah Marai, in the incident. Among other journalists killed in the attack included Mariam Tokhi from Radio Free Europe, Mahram Durrani former producer at Salam Watandar, Yar Mohammad Tokhi, Tolo News cameraman, Salim Talash, Mashal TV reporter, Ali Salimi, Mashal TV cameraman, Ghazi Rasouli, 1TV reporter and Nowruz Ali, 1TV cameraman.
The so-called Islamic State’s Khorasn province (ISIS-K) has claimed the responsibility for the attack. In an online post on the Amaq propaganda site, Daesh claimed killing over 50 intelligence officials.
The first blast was carried out by a suspected suicide bomber riding a motorcycle who targeted government employees in the Shash Darak area. The second was carried out by a suicide bomber among journalists.
Sepereatly, a policeman got killed and four people got wounded in twin-blasts in Jalalabad city on Monday.
