01/02/2018

KABUL (SW): A number of traffic police officers complained that they have not been paid for 7 months. These officers told Salam Watandar that it’s been 12 days since the start of the solar-calendar month, but so far they have not received their salary, on top of it; they have not received their allowances for 7 months.

An officer who did not want to be named said that the salary of an advisor which is 200,000 AFN is paid on time; however the salaries of traffic police officers which is only 2000 AFN is always delayed in payment.

The officials at the Ministry of Interior told Salam Watandar that the ministry is developing an electronic payment system to pay police officers, civilian officers, and traffic police officers online which will be efficient and fast.

Nasrat Rahimi, the spokesperson for the MoI said that by establishing the electronic system, salaries and allowances of traffic police officers will be paid by next month.

Mr. Rahimi informed that the salaries and allowances of traffic police officers have been processed and will be deposited to their accounts by the end of the month upon the launch of the new electronic system.
