LASHKARGAH (SW): Two separate traffic accidents in southern province Helmand have left 11 dead and nearly 49 more injured.
Sayed Ahmad Khan, Head of Traffic Department in Helmand, said that the first accident happened in Shorab area at Nimroz-Kabul Highway when a bus overturned and 7 passengers were killed and 43 more were injured.
He said that the second accident occurred at Helmand-Kandahar Highway as a result which 4 persons were killed and 6 others were injured.
He added that the accident happened when a personal car collided with a military vehicle.
He blamed careless driving for most of the accidents which take place in the province.
Road accidents continue to take lives and inflict casualties on the citizens who also lose lives due to the fighting in the country.
Many traffic accidents in the country are due to substandard roads and lack of attention to the traffic rules.
